This history of American space exploration is on display at The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, named for New Hampshire native Alan Shepard, a Mercury astronaut and the first American in space, and Christa McAuliffe, the New Hampshire educator and first “Teacher in Space” who was tragically lost aboard space shuttle Challenger yet continues to inspire people to explore new horizons. With two floors of exhibits, a planetarium and ongoing programs for kids of all ages, the center immerses visitors in earth and space sciences through interactive, engaging programs. The center is just minutes from our hotel, and our Concierge can help you plan your visit.
